[Event] Sunday Champion Battles (April 9th 2017)

    I'll be hosting a small event tomorrow where I wish to pick up 15-20 players to take on the newly re-balanced test champions to test their difficulty to help us properly balance the upcoming champions that we're preparing for launch. If the champions still need more testing then I'll be hosting another one of these small events a few days later or during the next weekend. I encourage other groups to try to defeat them outside of these events and to share feedback.

    The players who are attending the event will be using the mumble server from the marketing event, I will only act as a guide for the event and moderator and will rely on everyone to coordinate with each other during the fights.

    Please message "Metalkon BPG" in-game when the event is starting to join the group and get the mumble information.

    Rules:
    1) No attacking other players during the event. (including players not involved with the event)
    2) No purposeful actions to ruin the event.
    3) No derogatory talk or behaviour in mumble, try to behave yourself. (mute/kick/ban from server)

    Players who choose to break these rules will be temporarily banned until after the event is finished or possibly longer depending on the severity of the offense.

    Time:
    Sunday April 9th 2017 @ 6:00PM EST
    Location: Champion Spawns (Middle Map, Teleports Included)
    Mumble: The mumble server will be given out to users during the event.
    Reward: 10,000 Ember Hand Grenades (Fireworks)

    The reward is given to all players attending the event even if the champions prove to be too difficult to defeat regardless of how many players attend.

    Test Champions
    Here is some basic information about each of the test champions to help those who attend prepare for each fight.

    Champion 1 (Gray Ork Executioner)
    Attack Types: Melee Primary / Support Magic / Impale
    Protections: Weak To Melee / Resistant to Magic & Arrows
    Strategy: Surround the champion with players in melee with several dedicated healers keeping them alive and buffed, parry the champions hits when attacked, healers may shoot spells when healing is not needed if they can avoid damaging players with them.
    Champion 2 (Evil Eye)
    Attack Types: Magic Primary / Melee
    Protections: Weak To Arrows / Resistant to Melee & Magic
    Strategy: Using the terrain around you to avoid getting hit by the champions spells, use your bows to take down the champion while supporting each other from cover.
    Champion 3 (Seidbound)
    Attack Types: Magic / Melee
    Protections: Vulnerable To All Damage
    Strategy: This champion has no specific strategy.

    No. On Champion #1 we had trouble getting him to spawn. We ran out of time three times. The fire elemental stage was too chaotic. When we finally got it to spawn, a ton of Stormgraives spawned with it and we lost control. Too many AoEs. We got derailed with all the suging spells that we lost focus of the mob and he quickly regen'd the tiny amount of damage we did. With #2, we got him to spawn OK but he was too hard. Couldn't damage him and he was faceshotting people for 100+ damage and whirlwinding everyone around him for 150. Couldn't handle it. On #3, too many adds and the champion was too resistant. Couldn't damage him and lost control.

    Little overtuned now but with some tweaking, it'll be an exciting group event.

    For the final stage we're looking at 2 changes.
    1. The minions will be of lower difficulty.
    2. The minions will spawn in waves at specific health %'s of the champion.

    This makes sense.

    The final stage spawning the hardest mobs infinitely along with the champion is too overwhelming. Champion #3 would have been doable if we hadn't had to contend with infinitely spawning Obsidian Golems. We could have widdled them down and then focused solely on the champ.

    I dunno bout that :) I think we needed at least 10 more people to put a dent in that hp regen

    I really think the regen should just be turned off still for these champions.

    also if the mob regens back past the add spawning threshold will it spawn another wave or will that wave not spawn again

    Turning regen off eliminates the need for DPS.

    I'm thinking once a wave comes and goes it's gone. There will be something like 4-5 waves, 90% , 75%, 50%, 25%, 10% or something along those lines. Adjusting as necessary.
